Areas of Expertise
PTSD
Working with individuals who have experienced trauma and are grappling with PTSD is a delicate and compassionate journey. Through evidence-based interventions and a client-centered focus, we will navigate the complexities of emotions and thoughts, and gradually foster resilience to empower you to regain control over your life.
EMDR
Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) involves guided bilateral stimulation, such as eye movements, which facilitates the brain's natural ability to reprocess distressing memories. In collaboration with my clients, we work to identify and target specific traumatic memories, enabling a more adaptive and less distressing integration.
Learning Differences
As a therapist with personal and professional experience in ADHD/ASD, I approach my work with a deep understanding of the unique challenges families and individuals face. Through a collaborative and strengths-based approach, I assist clients in recognizing and embracing their inherent strengths while addressing the practical aspects of daily life.
Complex Trauma
Together, we will work to unravel the intricate layers of past traumas, building a foundation of trust and safety. Through a trauma-informed lens, I guide my clients in understanding the impact of prolonged and multiple traumatic experiences on their lives. Our work focuses on fostering resilience, reclaiming a sense of self, and developing coping strategies to navigate the challenges that arise from complex trauma.
IFS
Utilizing Internal Family Systems (IFS) recognizes that our minds are comprised of distinct 'parts,' each with its own unique perspectives and roles. Together, we explore and understand these internal dynamics, fostering compassion and curiosity towards these parts. IFS helps clients alleviate emotional burdens, navigate conflicts, and ultimately achieve a greater sense of balance and self-awareness.
